THE FORMATION

Thireos™️ is an australian, veteran owned & operated, small business that produces military & emergency services inspired apparel & accessories. our motive is simple: morale is boosted through the quality and condition of the mind; therefore a visual representation of one's world can be the best form of expression in an otherwise repressive environment.  our motto is: conquer through fortitude™️ - as we strongly believe that through fortitude, you may conquer anything in this life.

thireos (pronounced theory-oss) (Ancient Greek: θυρεός) is a large oval shield which was commonly used in Hellenistic armies from the 3rd century BC onwards. soldiers who carried it were known as thireophoroi. in addition, the word 'thireo' in greek means 'beast'.  we are motivated by ancient greek mythology.  our logo incorporates a cohesion of the greek 'theta' symbol (θ) (th sound for 'thireos') and a labrys (double headed axe) encompassed by a labyrinth-like reticle. we created this unique symbol inspired by the minotaur.

we are a very small team of serving & ex-serving military members, each with various skills that allow us to operate every single element of our business: from building our website, sourcing garments, designing/illustration, pressing our designs onto apparel, right up to packing & postage.

 

whilst none of our team members have their own social media, we did opt for an online presence for advertising purposes. note: insta is the only one we use for thireos.
